SRH professional surfer and DGAF rider Jack Murphy took first place again! This time at the #8 Northeast Surf Series contest in Seaside Heights New Jersey. An unusually warm week on the East Coast made for great weather and waves as Jack finished out this year’s series on top. This is the second first place contest in a row for Jack. DGAF had the honor of being invited out to the east coast by New York Hardcore legend Danny Diablo to perform for his Diablo Fest Birthday after party. @GILLIESDGAF flew out and linked up with long time friend and SRH pro surfer @Jackmurphsrh, then welcomed to Brooklyn by RukuDesign from DGAF.com for a historical night at the first annual Diablo Fest.

It all went down live at Santo’s party house in Manhattan. With such acts as Ill-Roc Soldiers, Darkside NYC, Rick Whispers, Rebel-Matic, Apathy, Reef the Lost Cauze, Our Sub Noize label mate Slaine, Lordz of Brooklyn, Hardcore legends Skarhead and Murphy’s Law.

We were witness to a heavy hitting night full of Hip Hop and New York HardCore. This collection of talented artists forced each other to take up the level of musical intensity each time they took the stage.

For many the highlight of the night was when legendary rap icon D.M.C. took the stage with Lordz of Brooklyn to perform their new collabo “Rock Solid” and the Run D.M.C. classic Sucker MC’s. (Be sure to check out the footage below). All the artists, fans and family showed us mad love and why New York City never sleeps.

After a Subway ride and quick cab over to the Red Star in Brooklyn where in front of some of the legends of NY Hardcore and Hip Hop, the only west coast MC@GILLIESDGAF took the stage and lit it up for his first solo performance ever. Putting it down with a 15 minute set in the birthplace of Hip Hop, Gillies straight represented DGAF to highest degree. Gaining mad respect from an intense NY crowd and definitely leaving his mark on the audience, along with a lot of his beer.
